Integrations

The Integration area consists of six submenus: Active Directory, Devices, Facebook, Google Maps, Twitter and Wordpress.

ACTIVE DIRECTORY

In ARION, users are registered with a link to a specific DOMAIN user. The image below shows an example of association:

In this case, the ARION user leandroleal@snews.tv is linked to the Active Directory (AD) user Leandro (leandroleal@snews.tv). It is not necessary to register a password in ARION, since authentication is performed entirely in the Active Directory (AD).

• Password format: Active Directory itself already has its internal accepted password format policy. Once the user is authenticated in AD, the user will be subject to the rules.

• Forget Password: Since authentication is performed directly in Active Directory, in cases of password forgotten, the user must ask the AD administrator to reset his password and register a new one. In this way, the user will have access to the system again through the new registered password.

• Password Blocking: Any user in AD who is blocked, disabled or has their account removed will no longer be able to log in to ARION. This also applies to cases where the user changes groups within AD and loses the permissions of the group that has access to ARION.

In addition to these possibilities, there are also ways to remove a user according to the Organizational Unit where he is located. In the example below, ARION is configured to synchronize users belonging only to the SNEWS Organizational Unit. Any user who is not in that unit will not be able to log in to ARION.

DEVICES

In Devices, ARION is linked to other devices used in journalism, such as a TelePrompTer (TP), Character Generator (GC), Playouts and MAM. The selection options (manufacturer, protocol, type) have predefined values, with no option to change, and one of the listed ones must be selected, according to the manufacturer's recommendation.

To register a device, just click on the option New, available in the upper right corner. The window below will open for you to fill in the device information. First, enter the name, then select the manufacturer, there are several options, to learn more about integrations, contact the Snews sales or support team. It is important to note that each manufacturer has a specific protocol.

Protocol

• MOS Protocol: is a protocol used to exchange information with servers using a standard MOS protocol. it is necessary to fill in the information below:

• Intelligent Interface: use protocol in conjunction with the communication interface for graphics, the CG. In this option, ARION allows the registration of thumbnails. It is necessary to fill in the fields below:

• Web Service: service used by ARION for MAM servers, as devices that use this protocol send data / files to ARION.

Device types:

• CG: A Character Generator device that will present the credits in the media played, a model can be configured through the option “Templates”;

• MAM: multimedia resource manager;

• PLAYOUT: A device that organizes and reproduces video playlists;

• TP: TelePrompTer device used by the presenters to read the texts during the news.

After filling in all fields, click Save, and run tests to make sure the integration is working. After registering it is possible to Edit and Delete.

Edit the integration if you need to change any information (such as ports, for example).

Delete an integration if you no longer have the device.

On Facebook, Google Maps and Twitter the APIs are available in these menus, which is, the keys that give access to ARION to be able to search for external information.

On Facebook and Twitter, the information is searched for and displayed in the Agency area.

Google Maps has an API that allows you to search for addresses within the Contacts and Assignment form. By default, this option is already configured. If you experience errors or problems, contact the Snews Support team.

WORDPRESS

This option allows you to link the WordPress database with ARION. However, for this integration to occur, it is necessary to contact the Support team. They will carry out internal tests before putting it into production, in addition to pass the necessary guidelines for the integration to work effectively.
